Project: CHIP

Created for the 2011 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon

This experimental project was created with inspiration from the NASA space suit. Created to protect for extreme variability of outside forces, while needing to move air/pressure/fluids throughout the space; this precedent had great lessons when creating a highly performing building.

Across 10 cloudy days in Washington, D.C., this home was a massive success, producing more energy than it used during the competitive testing period.

It also made a striking statement.
